Induction

Sperry's Induction System introduces electrical current into the rail head, and monitors the resulting magnetic field. This unique nondestructive testing method is more tolerant of rail condition and surface anomalies, than its ultrasonic counterpart. The resulting data is used to identify defects in the head of the rail, particularly transverse defects and vertical split heads.
