Sperry Rail Service is pleased to introduce for 2013 the new Sperry 7000 Series. Based on an award winning chassis platform, the high-rail vehicle it is equipped with Sperry’s latest generation Rail Flaw Detection technology. The Test System utilizes two UX6 and one X-Fire Roller Search Unit per rail. These are mounted on a unique test carriage. The carriage design ensures precise positioning of the Roller Search Units above the rail center line at speeds up to 25mph. Sperry’s Rail Vision system mounted on the front of the vehicle provides additional information to the Operator on the presence of welds and rail surface damage, enabling efficient real-time rail inspection.
The 7000 series benefits from the inherent reliability, economy and on road performance of the specially outfit vehicle. Particular attention has been paid by Sperry designers to the interior to ensure it fully satisfies the demanding requirements of rail testing. The objective has been to provide the safest rail and road environment vehicle while optimizing Sperry’s proprietary ultrasonic technology to accomplish rail flaw detection.
