Madrid, Spain – July 26, 2010 – Madrid’s Metro moving to Sperry Rail’s vehicle-based UT inspection service.
Sperry Rail is pleased to announce Metro de Madrid, one of Spain’s largest transportation companies, will now be utilizing Sperry’s SRS 242 vehicles for their rail inspection needs. This agreement allows Sperry to introduce the latest inspection technology and processes to this growing entity.
“More than three million people daily rely on Metro de Madrid,” stated Jamie O’Rourke, General Manager of Sperry. “The entire network comprises 284 kilometers with 294 stations. Up until now, they’ve been using manual inspection. By working with Sperry, Metro de Madrid will be able to achieve their goals of comfortable, safe, and rapid transport much more reliably.”
Sperry’s worldwide reputation and technology prowess helped win over Metro de Madrid. “We’ve improved the inspection process of transportation networks the world over,” said O’Rourke. “It’s a real testament to our service, technology, and people that Sperry was selected to improve the operation of Madrid’s major metropolitan transportation system.”
